Tom,

Check these out, starting at the 8th item down.

Probably part of the same series of coins.

They ARE PROBABLY made it up privately - just like GIM made up their coin.

For HUMORS sake:

At first I REALLY thought it was GEORGE BUSH JUNIOR stuck in the mouth of Steven Spielberg's white shark "JAWS" fish. Then it sure looked like it was GEORGE very Junior from "brains to position and on to veracity" in a clown's suit. At last I decided it was both!

Best wishes,

HS

The coin is listed in one of my coin books as KM#556

205,000 minted in uncirculated, 4000 proof.

Uncirculated is only worth a few dollars over spot. Proof is listed as $42.

I think it looks like an offering from la Casa de Monida de Mexico the Mexican Mint. From the page that Eye of Liberty dug up from Apmex, they must have made a ton of low mintage special coins back in the early to mid-90's. If you can get these things at close to spot, like Ross says, that would make a worthwhile collection. Apmex is a bit pricey on them.

Ah, come on now! Some of those at APMEX are in the same price range as Britannias. :D Not nearly as attractive, though, in my opinion.
